ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
As individuals, we sometimes
need to turn away from the truth in order to manage
unbearable realities. This is especially true in the area of
forensic work, where difficult early environments result in
the need to distort internal and external reality.
Therapeutic work with forensic patients often involves
engaging with these distortions; tolerating and recognising
these can enable understanding, and treatment. This
conference aims to look at the different ways in which lies,
manipulation and collusion, deliberate or otherwise, can be
used to control, manipulate and corrupt individuals, groups
and society.
